Were you hearing it through the monitors in the other room still?

TIC? Yeah, it was still broadcasting loud and clear when I left... Last time this happened to me I even checked on my mp3 player's fm tuner to make sure. It seems like this isn't a problem for everyone for whatever reason... I know, the one word no troubleshooter ever wants to hear, intermittent.

There's a button on the right side top of the board that is labeled "output source" or something like that. If the button for "TIC Monitor" is active, what you hear in the studio monitor (and the earphones I think) will be TIC. If you activate the other button ("off-air monitor" or something like that), the studio monitor plays what is going out over the air. If you go into the lubby, you'll definitely hear what's going over the air.

This problem may be a conflation of several different issues.

I have noticed that, these days, TIC never goes away if I just activate a mike... I have to start talking. I generally start the day with an announcement over the mike rather than with music from a CD, so it's possible that the mike is a more reliable method of turning off TIC.
