Hello everyone,
Myself and the other fallout shelter DJ's are trying to set up a huge show in Lowell to celebrate Fallout Shelter's 25th anniversary. It is also going to be the 1985 - 2005 Compilation CD Release party. Our goal is to have some of the biggest bands to have played the radio show come and play this show. We want to try and find an awesome all ages venue somewhere in Lowell as well. All proceeds from the show and CD sales will be going to benefit WUML (unless we come up with a better idea).
However, in order to do this we will of course need some money. I definitely don't want to ask for any money from the budget because this is only based around one show. So we have a couple ideas which includes talking to alumni, kickstarter.com (an online donation site), applying for grants, local business sponsorships and Brenda also said she would try and see if there was any outside of the budget funds that we could use.
The goal is to have A Wilhelm Scream and Smoke Or Fire headline (SOF played when they were Jericho) and also to have the show in a 400 - 500 capacity venue. So I am thinking we will need a few grand for this, which shouldnt be a problem if all the tactics I mentioned prove successful. I am planning on having the show in April.
If you have any thoughts or suggestions please post here. I am talking to Richard Chavez and Dee Tension about venue ideas and Dave Often said he would be emailing me a complete list of alumni contacts.
Thanks and I will keep this updated. |

| All ages shows are always tricky wherever you go, i would try to get in contact with the local halls and just put on a hall show. Thats also probably your cheapest option. When i used to put on shows this was always such a hassle, since all the venues i where i booked were shut down do to this one band and their drunk idiot fans. So id say check VFW halls, Sons of Italy, ETC..., as long as there alright with having the bar closed during the show you could probably get them to let you do an all ages show, you'll probably need a police detail which is very easy to get. |

| Yeah we're working on getting a hall. UTEC is letting bands have shows in their gym, but the acoustics there are probably horrible. |

I love gym shows, as long as you get enough bands with some real energy, i know you've got some in mind. As long as your p.a. doesnt suck the sound should be pretty decent, just dont over do it, you wont need anything close to the rock for tots set up.
Get Converge.... Seriously, get converge. |

| I already talked with Jake from Converge and he says they can't do it because they are booked all year. I'm guessing Doomriders has something to do with it. |

Here is a link to our event page on kickstarter.com:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/826718188/live-from-the-fallout-shelter-25-years-of-live-mu
It is a donation website and we need to reach our goal of $1000 or else all donations are cancelled. I think we are going to need around $5000 for this whole shebang so pleeease help us make this show possible.
All the money we raise from this show and CD sales of the compilation are going right back to wuml. Also, depending on how much you donate you get some different prizes! |

| A Wilhelm Scream and Smoke Or Fire have both officially said they want to play the show. I just need to come up with the money. We are at $850 right now, we need about $4500. |

Do you guys want to do a joint show with The Stress Factor for our 25th Anniversary as well? Because I could get Hold True Recordings and the business I plan on starting involved as well. I should have some money by then to sink into a show as well. _________________ "Forests to precede civilizations, deserts to follow." |
