I turned on email confirmation for registration.
We were getting a lot of very similar dummy accounts over the last week or so that i'm betting were spambots.
I didn't have email confirmation turned on before, because the forum was so small that I didn't think we needed it, but it's not going to hurt anyone, so I enabled it.
Nothing has changed, except that new accounts now need to put a valid email address in when they register.
After registering, the system will then contact them to confirm their account, and they have to do so before they can log in.
This isn't an unusual or particularly complicated process, provided that the people registering remember to put a real email address in when registering.
If you already have an account, this doesn't affect you one bit, though you should periodically check your profile setup to make sure your information (particularly your email address, in case someone wants to contact you) are current. _________________ WUML Forum Management
